Seems this phone does not work with this application. I followed all directions, including replacing the BT stack on my laptop. The laptop sees and uses the phone without a problem. I'm not asking here for "tech support", just posting my findings. If anyone does know how to correct this issue for this specific phone, I'd be pleased!

Bluetooth is one of those nice ideas that works really well on paper - any device should be able to find any other device - but in practice this doesn't seem to be the case, and generally this is the fault of the various vendors for not getting together and agreeing to implement the same set of standards.

For BlueLock I simply used the Bluetooth API in the Delphi Jedi Project which seems to work with some hardware/drivers but not others - I have no idea why and it is annoying. :x :x

If somebody knows of any other Delphi Bluetooth API I would be happy to try to incorporate it into Blue Lock, but as far as I know it is the only version available. Until then there isn't much I can do if it doesn't work with a particular phone/laptop I'm afraid :-(

Interestingly enough, it detected my phone once. But then failed to detect again. The concept behind the application itself is quite useful. I can't use it in my corp office (cheap corp won't put BT on computers nor allow you to add it), but for use on my laptop it'd be nice.

I'll play with it. Might be able to find just the right tweak...

Hi

I've create a new version of Blue Lock so if you have had trouble getting it to recognise your device, please see if the new version works for you. There are two changes:

1) It uses the latest version of the Bluetooth API in the Delphi Jedi project, as there have been a few bug fixes to this

2) I have made various search parameters configurable so you can try experimenting with these - the values are documented at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa362925.aspx and allow you to specify the types of devices that are discovered. Each parameter can be set/unset using a checkbox on the main screen.

I will be uploading the new version this evening, the new version number is 1.7 (this will be displayed on the title bar.

Please give it a try and post your results here.

Thanks
