I just downloaded Pheedstorm 1.43 from your site and when I unpacked it my virusscanner reacted. Pheedstorm.exe is classified as a troyan horse and was removed...

Since I don't get Turbo Delphi up and running I can't compile Pheedstorm myself...

Could be a false alarm, maybe because it opens a network connection as soon as it starts (to check for an updated version).

I assure you I haven't put any spyware or anything in it - I also ran the AVG virus scanner over it and it hasn't picked up anything.

Which virus software are you using?

btw I'm just uploading v2.0 which contains a number of improvements over 1.43, if you can get it to work any feedback would be welcome.

I can't seem to upload v2.0 tonight, something is wrong with the Lycos FTP server and nothing is getting through. I wouldn't mind, but it's zeroed out all of the files in the Pheedstorm directory now so not even the readme page is working. Grrrrrr!

I'll try and upload it tomorrow instead.

I am using the McAfee scanner. As soon as you upload the new version I will try again!

I still can't seem to upload it even today. I raised a support call with Lycos but judging by the google searches I ran for "Lycos FTP" it looks like they might be discontinuing the whole service, so I may need to find another hosting company if they don't sort this out. I'll post something here if I manage to get it uploaded, sorry about all this hassle.

I've given up on Lycos, I've been unable to upload for almost 1 week now which is totally unacceptable. I'm moving the entire site to another hosting company, you can find Pheedstorm 2.0 at this page:

Please let me know how you get on, it probably still has some bugs in it but I'm trying to iron them out gradually. Any feedback on the setup process (i.e. configuring feeds and giving initial article ratings would be most welcome)

If you get trouble with the virus/spyware scanner, try and see if there is some way to tell it "I trust this program" - there's probably a setting somewhere with:

When virus found: delete automatically/prompt for response

2.02 is now up, this allows you to mark articles as "kept" which will preserve them across restarts. There is also some more powerful filtering at the top of the main form to allow you to easily display the kinds of articles you want to see.
